Guardian Angels

The Guardian Angels program is designed to help our at-risk students and their families in a variety of different ways. It helps pay for field trip fees, school supplies, yearbooks, Book Fair vouchers, and other necessities for our families in need. Money for the program is raised during fun Spirit Days that are scheduled throughout the year. Sometimes we plan additional activities for Guardian Angels such as gift collections.

Spirit Days

On Spirit Days students are encouraged to dress up according to a specific fun theme! Whether or not students dress up they can donate $1 to the Guardian Angels program when they are dropped off at the bus loop entrance or the car rider gates. Some of our popular Spirit Days are:

  • Crazy hair Spirit Day! Wear your hair in a crazy ‘do, or sport a wig, or put on a funny hat.
  • Book character Spirit Day! Dress up as a character you like from one of your favorite books.
  • Pajama Spirit Day! Wear pajamas or sleepwear along with appropriate shoes.
  • Dr. Seuss Spirit Day! Dress up as a Dr. Seuss character or wear a funny hat. We try to schedule this day as close to Dr. Seuss’s March 2nd birthday as possible.
  • Hawaiian Spirit Day! Wear a colorful Hawaiian shirt, a floral print dress, appropriate beach-wear, or a tropically themed hat.

Please remember the OCPS dress code when dressing up for Spirit Days.

Holiday Snowflakes Gift Drive

Every year we provide holiday gifts for our own Windermere Elementary families in need. The CRT’s Office works closely with each family to determine a child’s wish list. Each wish list is placed on the back of a snowflake. The families of Windermere Elementary are encouraged to come to the lobby, choose a snowflake, and provide a wish!

Unwrapped gifts may be turned into the office, snowflake attached, until the end of the Drive. We also accept donations of gift boxes, wrapping paper, and tape. Donations of Publix gift cards are always welcome to provide our families with a holiday meal.
